New and Changed in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager CONNECT Edition Update 10

The following items summarize the new features and enhancements in the current OpenPlant Isometrics Manager release.

Feature Description
New Label Grouping option for User Labels You can now apply the grouping for the User Labels. The extra logic is added to the labeling engine to specify that PartID labels need to be grouped. Label Grouping.
Ability to produce Tap Reports A new functionality has been added to produce tap reports. A tap report reports UBR/RBR/OLET entries and properties of the components (header/branch pipe) connected.
Option to customize output file names specifically for revisioning Now you can customize drawing file name of isometric drawing using macro definition.
Dynamic indexing of report entries Improved functionality to dynamically create an index property on components based on the order the component appears in a report.
Introduced a mechanism to publish isometrics to ProjectWise on custom location A dynamic property has been added: MODEL_NAME and can be used to compose a PW storage just like the standard iso sheet properties:

In the same way, you can use _DGNDIR to compose a ProjectWise path i.e.

  • $(_DGNDIR)\foldername
  • or
  • $(parentdevdir(_DGNDIR))\foldername
Ability to continue BOM to a second page Reports can be continued on multiple pages.
Ability to point PCF.ini outside workset or on a common network location You can set1 PCF.ini for all Isometric Styles.Set the following variable in isoProj.cfg
# Configuration file for creating PCF
  IE_CFG_PCF = $(IE_CONF)pcf.ini

Any path can be set for above variable to use same pcf.ini file for multiple styles. e.g.

IE_CFG_PCF = C:\Projects\......\pcf.ini
Dual Dimension option for the Coordinates values Dual Dimension option for the Coordinates values is added under the Coordinates labels in Imperial/metric Style Property in configuration manager.
Option to Set spool number You have now option to customize spool number on the isometric drawing. Add SPOOL_NUMBER class under Note class. You can define more than one SPOOL_NUMBER on same spool /pipe line.
More control on inline component scaling An option is added for inline components to scale only length wise. Apply a rule for inline components in override.txt.

Ability to reorder User Label through UI User label placement is defined by creation order in Style Editor. Now there is flexibility to change the order of user labels without editing style.xml. Up and Down arrows added on isometric styles User Label UI to change the order of labels in the generated isometrics.
Default precision for Trimmed Elbows Changes are made in the delivered Workspaces to set default precision for Trimmed Elbows angle labels. You can check this in User Label dialog.
  • For Elbow Angle Label property, the text string is set as
  • Text= $(IE_BANGLE:#.#)°

Here, it means 1 digit after Decimal Point.

Ability to handle Global Origin Set variable GLOBAL_ORIGIN=x,y,z in style.cfg to set Global Origin in isometric drawing.
Ability to Push iso-drawing to PlantSight (Technology Preview) Isometrics generated from PlantSight or local disk can be pushed to PlantSight.
Buttons are added on Ribbon to access Plant Portals
New Ideas Portal

Access the new OpenPlant Ideas portal (https://openplant.ideas.aha.io/) from the OpenPlant Isometrics Manager interface. Use this portal to submit your product improvement suggestions, vote on other ideas, and provide feedback.

About Technology Preview Features

Some features delivered with this edition of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager are specifically identified as "Technology Preview" features.

Technology Preview features are:

  • currently unsupported
  • may not be functionally complete
  • not suitable for use/deployment in production

However, these features are provided to you as a courtesy and the primary goal is for the feature to gain wider exposure with the goal of full support in the future.

You may find these features useful in a non-production environment. You are welcome to provide feedback and functionality suggestions for a Technology Preview feature before it becomes fully supported. Bentley Systems intends to fully support Technology Preview features in a future release, at which time the features will no longer be identified as Technology Preview features.
